"Kalangos Foundation" is a Swiss non profit organization aiming at assisting children in developing countries suffering from cardiac diseases. Missions of the foundation is to make the screening of children suffering from cardiac diseases, to treat them in cardiac facilities and to set up educational networks in order to promote medical education and training in cardiology and cardiac surgery.
Since its creation in 2000 up to now, "Kalangos Foundation" has treated more than 17.000 children in 25 developing countries and trained more than 100 health professionals of these countries in cardiac surgery.
Nowadays, "Kalangos Foundation" has two specialized humanitarian heart centers in Istanbul and Kiev and continues to coordinate missions in Cameroun, Mauritius, Morocco, Vietnam, India and Nigeria.
"Kalangos Foundation" is also a founding member of the "Global Heart Network" (GHN), a worldwide humanitarian medical network that gives access to cardiac care for children of developing countries and coordinates all the humanitarian aspects of cardiac surgery and facilities in developing countries.
"Kalangos Foundation" welcomes all the children applying through the GHN and provides them appropriate surgical and medical care in its 2 humanitarian centers.
Professor A. Kalangos is the founder and the President of "Kalangos Foundation". He is also a worldwide known cardiac surgeon with an extensive humanitarian experience in Africa and Asia.
